Quick Start
Get up and running with Threader in 5 minutes.
1. Create a Project
Launch Threader and create a new project. Each project is stored as a .threader file (SQLite-based).
2. Import Video
Import your match video via the video panel. Threader supports common formats (MP4, MOV, MKV).
3. Add Match Context
Add match metadata, teams, and players if you have them. This makes event tagging and export validation easier later.
4. Set Up Whistle Sync
Whistle sync bridges video playback time to real-world UTC timestamps, which is required for CDF compliance. Mark the key moments (kick-off, half-time, etc.) to establish the time mapping.
5. Start Annotating
Use keyboard shortcuts to tag events as you watch:
- Each event type has a dedicated shortcut
- Default values are pre-filled for speed
- Press Enter to confirm
6. Review the Timeline
Use the timeline to inspect events, filter dense passages, and correct missing fields before export.
7. Export
Export your annotations as CDF-compliant JSONL for use in analysis tools and pipelines.
